Gettysburg

The Battle of Gettysburg was fought in the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on July 1 - July 3, 1863 between the United States (union) and CSA (confederacy) armies.  The union commander was George G. Meade and the confederacy commander was Robert E. Lee.  The Battle of Gettysburg is frequently cited as the war's turning point and was the battle with the largest number of casualties in the American Civil War.  On the union side 3,155 were killed, 14,531 were wounded, and 5,369 were captured or missing.  On the confederacy side 4,708  were killed, 12,693 were wounded 5,830  were captured or missing.
